Until very recently I thought that at least at my search level – Executive and non-Executive Board Level – faked diplomas and PhD degrees would not cross my path. Unfortunately, I have been taught better. I have, therefore, decided to include a Background and Reputation Check with any retainer fee based C-level search (at no extra cost to the client). It includes evidence of academic achievements (diplomas etc.) on the one side as well as a summary of public information concerning the candidate’s reputation in the eyes of media and other publicly available sources.
